Ben Bampton

Ben’s journey at Jam has been nothing short of impressive. Starting as an apprentice in the late ’90s and progressing to stylist before becoming a partner in 2017, he humorously claims, “I’ve been working here since I was born.” Ben is an all arounder when it comes to hairstyling but has a particular passion for curly hair, men’s cuts, and creative, unconventional cuts and colours. He also proudly holds the title of resident dreadlock specialist. Ben’s dream of working at Jam began in high school. As he regularly skateboarded past the salon on Cuba Street, he would peer through the window, captivated by the bold and unique hairstyles being created inside. “I always wanted to be a part of this place, even before I worked here,” Ben reminisces. “That’s probably why I’m still around.” Outside of the salon, Ben enjoys unwinding by walking his dog and media marathons.
